Sandwich Aligner Cutter
We have a wide range of experience in the manufacture of stainless steel parts for: food manufacturing, food packaging machinery and cooking appliance industries. Many of the items produced include: blades, machine cabinet bases, fabricated covers, mechanical actuation parts and laser etched labels, etc.
Much of this work is carried out in 304 (1.4301) stainless steel. The high chromium content makes it relatively inert to food products: hard wearing and suitable for wash down environments. For more caustic and corrosive environments, 316 (1.4404) stainless steel is used.
316 stainless steel, which is 304 with 2% added molybdenum, is particularly resistant to high levels of chloride or sulphur dioxide, making it suitable for the storage of white wines, salty foods and aggressive media such as pectin, used in jam-making.
Specialist stainless steels are often required for very demanding environments such as the production of soy sauce where the ingredients ferment in tanks for about six months, during which they produce a sauce rich in organic acids, amino acids and alcohol.
For exceptionally demanding environments materials such as Duplex are required. Examples include: mustard and vinegar-making, cheese dairies and fish-canning plants.
Sorb have the skills and experience to handle most projects, whatever the requirement.
We take care to ensure all surfaces and welds are smooth to avoid bug traps and bacterial growth.
